The Kaluz Museum raised the question about the presence of women in art collections in Mexico, and in response, it initiated a review of its own collection to question artistic narratives from a gender perspective. This effort materialized in the exhibition titled "(Re)generating... Narratives and Imaginaries: Women in Dialogue," curated by the prominent feminist art historian and academic Karen Cordero Reiman.
The exhibition sought not only to reflect on the work of women artists but also to reimagine the history of art and explore possible futures for culture and society. Furthermore, it aimed to challenge and dismantle the implicit hierarchies in culture and the art system, involving various institutions, museums, private collections, as well as loans from contemporary artists and collectives in this initiative.
This is the catalog of the exhibition featuring the contributions of distinguished feminist historians and artists' voices: Dina Comisarenco Mirkin, Karen Cordero Reiman, Deborah Dorostikny Alperstein, Ana Garduño, Silvana Gesualdo, Miriam Mabel Martínez, and Mónica Mayer.
